Food Review: Bigg Small Cafe + Bar

The Bigg Small Cafe+ Bar is a new addition to Andheri East in Mumbai. It is quaint and a perfect place to let your hair down and chill post work. They have an amazing collection of mocktails and cocktails. The Bigg Small Cafe + Bar is located above Mahesh lunch home at a walkable distance from Marol metro station.

The seating area at the Bigg Small Cafe is massive with fine dine experience seating, great couches, amazing bar stools and has a complete fancy schmancy look to it. To top it all it even has a pool table! The music played is excellent and we loved the hospitality of the restaurant staff.

So we tried the Ghee roast paneer Pita Pockets: This is again a good appetizer filled with spicy Manglorean style ghee roast paneer. Loved the taste and the Pita Pocket is soft and is a treat to the taste buds. All the dishes were presented beautifully. The appetizers were on stone plates. The main course was served on melamine plates.

The second main we had was the TBS signature pudina chicken with kulchas. This was the best chicken curry, I have had in years. The hint of pudina was just perfect and the kulchas were so soft that you could break them with your two fingers.

Lastly, after a satisfying meal, we went for a warm dessert and what better than an apple tart. The perfectly baked tart which had the buttery pastry and wonderfully caramelised apples softened to such an extent that it just melts in the mouth. We also got to try a unique dessert, the fried ice-cream. It was vanilla ice-cream covered with a doughey pastry deep fried. Weight-watchers, beware, but I totally loved it.

Overall Bigg Small Cafe is a fantastic choice and we enjoyed the food and also the drinks. The ambience is great. So a visit is perfectly due. The only dish we didn’t like was the Kolhapuri chicken nuggets, which seemed like they were defrosted and then reheated.

PS: We were invited to try the food at the Bigg Small Cafe + Bar
